Alice S. Huang

Dr. Huang is senior councilor for external relations and faculty associate in biology at the California Institute of Technology. She sits or has sat on the boards of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, Johns Hopkins University, University of Massachusetts, the Health Effects Institute, Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences, and the Pacific Council on International Policy, among others. She is also a member of the Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Related Biological Products.

After receiving her Ph.D in microbiology from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Huang taught microbiology and molecular genetics at Harvard Medical School. Later, she was named Dean for Science at New York University.

She has been recognized by the American Society for Microbiology with the Eli Lilly Award and has also received the Chinese-American Faculty Association of Southern California Achievement Award.
