Steve Farkas

Mr. Farkas, senior research fellow, was director of Public Agenda's research department from 1992 to 2004. He has been the principal researcher and author of numerous Public Agenda opinion studies and focus group reports on public education, social welfare, saving and retirement, crime and foreign policy.

Prior to joining Public Agenda, Mr. Farkas was senior analyst at Penn + Schoen, Inc., a political and corporate consulting firm specializing in survey and focus group analysis.

Mr. Farkas earned his B.A. from New York University, and his M.A. and M. Phil. from Columbia University's Department of Political Science, where he is a Ph.D. candidate. Currently he is writing his dissertation on the ground rules for understanding the public's mind on critical issues. Mr. Farkas has been the recipient of President's and MacArthur Fellowships.
