Uncle Sam's (& Your Own) Red Ink To Hit New Record

The federal budget deficit – rising this fiscal year to over $410 billion, due to military spending and the economic slowdown – will soar to a record of nearly $490 billion next year. The Washington Post notes the red ink is in contrast to the White House's original projection that the deficit would instead shrink by a billion in 2009. Ordinary citizens can do something about it.
