The Pittsburgh public school administrators have made it mandatory for teachers to give their students, regardless of how poorly they perform, a minimum grade of 50 on homework, tests and grading periods. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, some students have said that they'd rather take the 50 than do any work.

Huge Jump In Home Foreclosure Filings

The number of homes hit by foreclosure filings skyrocketed by 48 percent last month, compared to a year ago, with one out of every 483 U.S. households affected by the crisis. The Associated Press reports filings rose in all but ten states, with the most trouble seen in Nevada, California, Arizona, Florida and Michigan.
