Hispanics - the fastest growing population group in the country - will soon be working to maintain American competitiveness. In "Out Before The Game Begins: Hispanic Leaders Talk about What's Needed to Bring More Hispanic Youngsters Into Science, Technology and Math Professions," Public Agenda interviewed 19 key leaders from vastly different fields and backgrounds. Prepared for IBM's summit on "America's Competitiveness: Hispanic Participation in Technology Careers," the interviewees point to daunting obstacles such as poverty, inadequate language instruction, and other education failures.
